How to Be a Great Male Ally

A panel discussion produced by boom! Global Network | Replay from 22 June 2023

Great male allies can help to empower women in supply chain, but when we talk about bringing men along on the journey, there are of course barriers which need to be overcome to create a bigger groundswell. Levels of female representation is improving, but what are the key areas we still need to focus on?

In this panel discussion, Melanie Salter is joined by three outstanding male allies:

  • Steve Harpum, Deputy Director Supply Chain at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Stephen Spulick, VP Supply Chain Management at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
  • Eric Tritch, VP Supply Chain and Support Services at UChicago Medicine

Watch the replay now to hear about their interpretation of male allyship and gain insights into how they integrate it into their everyday working lives.

Topics covered include:

  • The difference between good leadership and good allyship.
  • How to create a culture of equity when some people do not recognise that there are barriers in place for women.
  • How minority groups such as women of colour, LGTBQ+ and the disabled can be included on the allyship journey.
